Bertha Lee Shivers Fields was born June 30, 1939 to Sampson and Australia Horton Shivers in Shreveport, Louisiana, who preceded her in death. She received her education at Booker T. Washington High School. On August 23, 1959 Bertha was united in holy matrimony to Isadore S. Fields in Shreveport, Louisiana. To this 55 year union two children were born, Harold Dorian Fields and Yvette Marie Fields.. Bertha was a loving mother; trained her children to love and serve the Lord. Bertha Lee Shivers Fields was born June 30, 1939 to Sampson and Australia Horton Shivers in Shreveport, Louisiana, who preceded her in death. She received her education at Booker T. Washington High School. On August 23, 1959 Bertha was united in holy matrimony to Isadore S. Fields in Shreveport, Louisiana. To this 55 year union two children were born, Harold Dorian Fields and Yvette Marie Fields.. Bertha was a loving mother; trained her children to love and serve the Lord. On September 29, 1974 she united with New Testament Baptist Church, served faithfully as a Deaconess, Usher, Sunday School Teacher, and Mother's Board until her health fail. Her life was the fragrance of a beautiful rose, influence those in her presence She was quiet in her manner, pleasant toward everyone, enjoyed talking especially about the Lord and His cause. She would often say, "I'll be ready when the Lord calls me." She was ill for several years, never complained; and bored her illness patiently. She was a living example of loving service, worthy of emulation, which bear some comfort to her loving family, who did all that they could until the end.. When the sun of life reaches its zenith, with the brightness of a well-spent life, when the passing comes, we can only say that a beautiful life has ended. She leaves to cherish her memories; loving and devoted husband, Isadore S. Fields; two children; Harold Dorian Fields of Sacramento, California and Yvette Marie Fields of Irving, Texas; two brothers Johnny L. Shiver (Alice) and Sampson Shivers, Jr. (Vera) of Shreveport, Louisiana; three sisters Australia Bell, Earnestine Meaux (Phillip), Gloria Jean Tate (Michael) all of Shreveport, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
