In loving memory of Valeen Dorney Singleton who passed away on November 20, 2016 in Citrus Heights, California. She was 86 years old and an active member of the LDS church. She was born in Ogden, Utah to Cecil Thomas and Sariah Mae Dorney on February 14, 1930. She had an older sister and brother Norma Dickins and Darrel Dorney. She attended Washington Elementary, Ogden High School and Weber College and was married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to Dale LaMar Singleton on January 23, 1953. She worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company...

In loving memory of Valeen Dorney Singleton who passed away on November 20, 2016 in Citrus Heights, California. She was 86 years old and an active member of the LDS church. She was born in Ogden, Utah to Cecil Thomas and Sariah Mae Dorney on February 14, 1930. She had an older sister and brother Norma Dickins and Darrel Dorney. She attended Washington Elementary, Ogden High School and Weber College and was married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to Dale LaMar Singleton on January 23, 1953. She worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company until she had her first child Brett LaMar. She later had a second son Raun Val and daughter Ann. For 26 years they lived in Ogden, Kearns and Farmington Utah (Farmington for 15 years). She worked for the Davis County School lunch program for 10 years and then for the Utah Bank in Salt Lake City. Dale and Valeen moved to Northern California in 1979 and lived in Fresno, Santa Clara, Placerville and settled in Citrus Heights for the last 18 years. She worked for the Bank of American for 20 years and retired to travel with her husband who worked for the building division of the LDS church. She loved to travel, play golf and spend time with her family. She has 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the LDS church on 8267 Deseret Avenue in Fair Oaks, CA at 11:00a.m., Friday, November 25.Arrangements under the direction of Mount Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary, Fair Oaks, CA.
